Sweet Hearts Romance Books Shipping & Postage Rates

Updated to reflect recent Aus Post changes on 16/10/18

For all buyers:  With many of the different series 2 books are thin enough to be sent together at letter rate for less money. If there is an overcharge by the system I will refund the difference, either to PayPal accounts if paid by that method ( especially for international buyers) or in cash included with parcels or to bank accounts if you wish for Australian buyers.

For International Buyers: As of October 1st 2018 Aus Post now has added more letter rate weight categories for all shipping/postage zones, rising in 125gm & 250gm increments. They are up to 125gms (approximately a 105gm or lower book plus the packaging), up to 250gm (2 thin books up to approx. 200gms plus packaging), and up to 500gms (2 or 3 thin books up to approx. 450gms plus packaging). For the last one at the moment there isn't a way of having this site's system have that as a separate letter rate, so refunds will be given for any overcharging when the parcel rate is billed but the letter rate can be used. Parcel rates to most zones have decreased for higher weights. New Zealand and most Asia & pacific countries have had most postage/shipping rates decreased by quite substantial amounts.

Australia Post rate changes.  These happen once a year now & usually around October, but don't always mean increases for domestic postage or that only satchel prices increase (Sweet Hearts charges less than the cost of satchels). Small shipping rate rises might not mean shipping costs will change for Sweet Hearts customers. As of January 1st 2016 domestic letter rates  increased due to the cost of stamps being $1 each now. Australia Post delivery times have also become slower, with normal delivery being 4 to 6 days and priority delivery being 2 to 4 days at an extra cost of 50 cents per letter rate package. At the moment Sweet Hearts will not be offering the priority rate. Parcel rates at Sweet Hearts have increased a little to reflect Aus Post's latest changes. Due to 2 bad experiences using Officeworks Mailman I won't be using them as an alternative lower priced postage option. Sendle is a company that will be used for some locations, but only to towns/regions not classed as remote by that company (some Melbourne & Sydney outer suburbs are classed as remote, as is a town on the Princes Highway 30 minutes drive from my town. There seems to be no logic to what is considered "remote" by Sendle). If I use Sendle & there is a difference in the cost of postage then I will refund that difference.

Australia Post added an extra shipping zone for international mail which means some countries have moved to a different zone with either higher or lower shipping rates.  They also now have 2 parcel shipping rates with different price scales. Economy Air and Standard. Economy takes longer to be delivered, an average of 10 plus days. Standard is delivered quicker but can cost substantially more. For the time being Sweet Hearts will only offer Economy Air Mail.
